~ psychotherapy for adults ~

My style as a therapist is laid-back but engaged — I’m not a blank wall. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real relationship, grounded in trust, respect, and genuine care. I use a Person-Centered approach, which means I meet you where you are, without judgment, and with a deep belief in your ability to grow and heal.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s completely normal to have questions before starting therapy — in fact, it’s a great sign that you’re thoughtful about finding the right fit.

“I’m not sure I really need therapy... how do I know?”

That’s a common question, and the answer is: if you’re wondering about it, there’s a good chance talking to someone could help.

You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Maybe you’re feeling off or not quite like yourself. Some signs therapy might be helpful include:

•    Feeling down, stuck, or overwhelmed

•    Having trouble making decisions or setting goals

•    Feeling tired or unmotivated for no clear reason

•    Changes in sleep or appetite

•    Trouble in relationships or at work

•    Using substances to cope

•    Feeling hopeless or thinking a lot about death or self-harm

If any of that resonates — or if you're just curious about therapy — that’s reason enough to reach out. Therapy isn’t about whether your problems are “big enough.” It’s about having support.

“What happens in the first session?”

Our first session is roughly 55 minutes. We’ll take care of a bit of paperwork, and then we’ll spend time talking about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to get out of it, and what working together might look like. There’s no pressure — it’s really just a chance for us to get to know each other.

“How long will I need to be in therapy?”

It really depends on what you're looking for. Some people come to therapy for short-term support around a specific issue. Others find value in longer-term work focused on personal growth, processing past experiences, or navigating ongoing challenges.

We’ll revisit your goals regularly and check in about what’s working — and if your goals change, that’s okay too. Therapy moves at your pace.

“How will I know when I’m ready to finish therapy?”

Great question — and one we’ll explore together when the time feels right. We’ll review the goals you set, what progress you’ve made, and whether there are any new goals you want to work on. We’ll also talk about the tools and insights you’ve gained, and how to use them going forward.

Some people choose to wrap up therapy completely, while others schedule occasional check-ins. Whatever you choose, we’ll talk through it and create a plan that feels solid. And if saying goodbye feels like a big deal — that’s okay too. We’ll make space to acknowledge the end of our work together and celebrate how far you’ve come.
